Shift from outputs to processes. Instead of grading essays, assess the thinking behind them. Ask students to defend their reasoning, critique AI-generated work, or explain why they disagree with algorithmic recommendations.

Use AI as a teaching tool. Have students generate AI responses to prompts, then identify errors, biases, or limitations. This trains critical evaluation—the most important skill in an AI-saturated world.

Reward originality over perfection. AI produces polished but generic work. Celebrate ideas that surprise, arguments that challenge conventions, perspectives that algorithms wouldn't generate. Make human creativity the premium commodity.

For Organizations: Building Cultures of Healthy AI Use

Establish clear AI-use policies. Define where AI is appropriate, where it's prohibited, and where human oversight is mandatory. Communicate the "why" behind policies so they're understood, not just enforced.
